The easiest way to replace specific keywords with an affiliate URL across your Wordpress site.
The Wordpress Campaign Manager plugin gives you absolute, site-wide control over your affiliate campaigns. It has two main features:
1) Replace any word on your entire blog with an incentivised link
For example, you can replace any instance of the word "hosting" with a link to a hosting affiliate scheme - across every single post, all managable from this single plugin
2) Mask your affiliate URL's with friendly ones
This plugin can turn http://www.this-is-a-long-affiliate-url.com?referal=you123456 into a more friendly, inviting http://www.your-site.com/go.php?l=scheme
How to Install Wordpress Campaign Manager
1) Purchase, download the plugin
2) Upload the "wordpress-campaign-manager" folder to the "wp-content\plugins\" directory of your Wordpress install
3) Upload "go.php" to the root of your Wordpress install (alongside files like wp-login.php, license.txt, wp-config.php). If you cannot upload the file, see the step below on "uploading go.php"
4) Login to Wordpress
5) Go to "Plugins" in the Wordpress navigation/menu
6) Click "activate" on the "Wordpress Campaign Manager" plugin
7) Go to "Settings" or "Options" (depending on your version of Wordpress)
8) Click on the "Campaign Manager" option in the menu - the plugin will now be working
How to upload "go.php"
Some Wordpress installations lock down the permissions on the root directory where "go.php" needs to be uploaded to. So, connect to your webserver over SSH using a telnet application like Putty, and supposing I have a website called www.test.com housed in a folder called test.com, I would perform the following command:
"chmod test.com 775"
This will allow the files in the root of the test.com folder to become writable for a short period. I can now upload "go.php" as normal.
When you have uploaded the file, perform the following command:
"chmod test.com 555"
This makes the directory unwritable again (therefore safer)
Still lost? For $40 I can install and configure it for you
For $40 I'll install and configure the plugin to work correctly with your setup. If (for some highly unlikely reason) the plugin will not work on your setup, then you are entitled to a full refund.
